The weather was cool today and so was my attitude. Call me a chameleon if you choose because I definitely change right along with my environment ... weather changes alter my mood. Gotta a quick story for you ...
I visited a client today, did her hair, dropped off an order at the post office, got me some food, and was headed home. I'm walking down the sidewalk by my complex and I notice a car pulls into the driveway I had just walked past. I realized the dude that was driving had to have made u-turn to pull in the way he did. He tried to get my attention by poking his head out of the window.
My headphones were in my ears. My sunglasses were on. I was jammin'.
Maybe he needs directions.
I pull out my headphones, tilt my head slightly to the left, and give him that can-you-repeat-yourself face.
He says, "What's your name?"
I say, very politely, "I'm married."
He asks, "You're married?"
I respond, "I'm married."
And that should have been the end of this extremely brief conversation.
As I start to proceed on my way he tries again ...
"Well, can I take you where you're going?"
I was right by my place and even if I wasn't what kind of lady would I be to allow a complete male stranger to take me anywhere ... come on now son.
I politely decline, leaving him with a "God Bless You."
*puts headphones back in ... turns the music up*
